Too Much, Too Soon.

I decided to check my email one last time before bed when I find a message in my inbox from Mama. I open it and read through it, and a sickly sad feeling runs through me.

The newspaper here in Columbus intends to write another news story on the murder case of my great-aunt.

The article is related to the fact that they've had the suspect in custody for nearly five years without sending him to trial. While the newspapers are working in our favor... the odds of getting the trial -- and even justice -- is slim to none.

And even if the trial went through and "justice" was served, it wouldn't be enough.

I know the intended article is meant to assist my family in getting closure...

But it's going to open up a lot of old wounds.

And with that news coming in just two days before the seven-year anniversary of my grandmother's death...

It's just too much, too soon.
